About us
At Foxglove, we’re building powerful tools to accelerate robotics development. We believe that robotics will have a massive impact on our daily lives and the world economy over the coming decade, and that better quality software tooling will significantly accelerate this trend. Our team’s years of experience working in the robotics and self-driving industries means we are uniquely positioned to bring the advanced tools built in-house at larger companies to the increasing number of startups in this space, across a wide range of verticals. Our first product, Foxglove Studio, is an open source visualization and diagnosis platform, specifically designed for working with robotics and sensor data. It allows you to easily inspect sensor inputs such as images, point clouds, and time series data, via a highly customizable 2D & 3D environment.

MCAP and ROS 1 bag are two broadly comparable file formats for recording robotics data. Here's a look at a less-publicized feature of MCAP over bag files: improvements in the index structure that enable faster summarization over remote connections or slow storage devices. https://bit.ly/3wo5jm9 #robotics #ROS #MCAP

🇯🇵 What an epic week in Japan at #ICRA2024! Here are some highlights ✨ 🚀 We were thrilled to see F1 autonomy team, Véhicule Autonome de l’Université Laval (VAUL) leveraging Foxglove for data visualization. 🐕 It felt like we took a beloved puppy to the dog park as we watched our trusty robot mascot, Bodi, playing with other Robo pets. 🦆 Excitement built around our booth as we hosted a virtual duck race! And a huge congratulations to Alessandro Gozzi, Research Engineer at Intuitive who won the LEGO R2-D2! Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to learn about multimodal data visualization with Foxglove. We loved sharing our product with you, hearing about your use cases, and talking industry trends! 🚀 #Robotics #DataViz

The robotic arm is one of the first robotic automations to be used at scale in production, primarily manufacturing. It’s a great representative of why you should use Foxglove when you’re building robots at scale. 🤖 Add a URDF file to Foxglove’s 3D panel. Then, place your robot model in the context of a real-world environment for more true-to-life debugging; use the joint controls in the panel settings to move, rotate, and otherwise interact with your robot model; or use transform messages from your robot to automatically position your robot model's joints. Foxglove schemas are framework-agnostic—in this video, the ‘FrameTransform’ which is used in the 3D and Image panels—and can be implemented using any supported message encoding: ROS, Protobuf, JSON and more.
