 Announcing H.264 Support

Starting from Foxglove v1.75, you can now visualize H.264 compressed video messages in the 3D and Image panels.

One of Foxglove's most requested features has been the ability to play back H.264 video. Since H.264 takes advantage of keyframes and delta compression, this video format take up less bandwidth than frames written as compressed image messages.

Foxgloveโ€™s new H.264 support helps robotics teams benefit from advances in higher-resolution sensors, all without sacrificing storage space. Upgrade to our latest version to take advantage of this feature and play back higher-quality video recordings more efficiently.

Drag-and-drop topics: Easily drag and drop different topics onto select Foxglove panels (Raw Messages, Image, Plot, State Transitions, Table) to customize your visualization dashboard. Read more

Improved topic discovery: Search for relevant topics and message paths via the โ€œTopicsโ€ sidebar. Read more

Unified developer docs: Our documentation has a new look! Check out our new site for all Foxglove resources. Read more

Improved topic search: Search data sources by topic names and schema fields in the app sidebar. Read more

Added plot line size setting: Configure the weight of each series' line in the Plot panel. Read more

3D marker inspection: When inspecting a marker in the 3D panel, click to open its topic settings in the app sidebar. Read more

Updated translations: Community members have added more Chinese and Japanese translations to the app interface. Contribute your own languages and translations to expand Foxglove's localization support. Read more

๐Ÿ”— The most clicked product feature announcement from our last newsletter was Foxglove's improved URDF support. With this upgraded feature, you can now specify a custom topic or parameter as the URDF's source as well as switch between rendering a robot's visual or collision geometries.
